Treatment

Our wood is treated with either oil or lacquer to protect and highlight the surface. The specific surface treatment is chosen to match the wood species, surface type and the intended use of the product.

We use oil because it enhances the natural grain, depth and colour of the wood. The result is a warm, organic and tactile appearance that celebrates the character of real wood. Oiled surfaces are easy to maintain and refresh over time, helping the furniture remain beautiful and vibrant for many years.

Matt transparent lacquer is used on surfaces that require extra durability and protection. It creates a protective layer that shields the wood from scratches, moisture and everyday wear. We use lacquer on pine, beech and veneered wood to ensure long-lasting protection. Some of our products are stained with colour pigments before they are lacquered, allowing the tone to settle into the wood while the lacquer provides durability and a refined, long-lasting finish. Examples include the Beam Bench in Deep Brown and the Blueprint Chair in Black. Additional colours can be provided for contract projects. Damage to lacquered surfaces must be repaired by professionals, typically through sanding and refinishing.

Every product comes with a dedicated maintenance guide, which can always be downloaded from our website. The guide explains how to clean, maintain and, when needed, refresh or refinish the surface. In addition, we offer oil care kits specifically designed for our wood products, available for purchase on our website to support proper long-term care.
