Waste

For our Remake Collection, we use a material made from recycled waste called Recoma Packwall Design Board. The material is produced in Europe from post-consumer and post-industrial packaging waste. It is made using a patented process that compresses mixed plastic and aluminium under heat and pressure without the use of binders or adhesives.

The material reveals its recycled origin in a striking way: Fragments of packaging and individual cartons remain visible on the surface, making the material’s circular story part of its visual identity. The board is dense, strong and durable, making it well suited for furniture and interior applications where a distinctive and expressive material is desired.

Because the material is made entirely from recycled packaging and can be fully recycled within Recoma’s own production system, it offers a responsible and innovative alternative to conventional board materials. According to Recoma’s Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), the material has a carbon footprint of –10.6 kg Co2e per m2 (for a board mass of approximately 10.45 kg/m2, cradle to gate).
