Where Japanese Tradition Meets Nordic Design
The Andon Lamp combines Asian inspiration with a Nordic touch. The name “Andon” comes from the Japanese word for a traditional paper-enclosed wooden lantern. It is designed as an essential source of light in everyday life.
This elegant lamp is made of solid ash and fine paper. Its purpose is to provide atmospheric lighting and to adapt seamlessly as an object within a variety of interiors.
Its refined solid wood construction and elegant proportions, paired with the lightness and quality of the paper, form a durable and versatile piece.
The paper is tactile yet highly durable, made from 100% vegan cellulose and latex, and contains no PVC or BPA. It combines the tactile quality of paper with the strength of fabric and is easily cleaned with a dry cloth.
”The concept behind the Andon Lamp was to create a refined small piece of furniture that frames and holds the shade. One could say that the structure simultaneously supports, frames, and protects the thin paper”
